2011 world champs top 5 mens open fitness model results
Here are the wbff top 5 mens open model fitness results.
There was quite a bunch of guys in this category some 40 odd turned up, so to make the top 5 is a good achievement. I think the top 5 were pretty spot on, below are the results and a little more on each competitor since these guys will most likely be competing with the Pro's next year we should spend some time eon these guys as the top Pro's have all the lime light already.
First place - Jean Jacques Barrette. I agree with this placing he looked awesome fantastic torso and great legs, yet he looks quite a slight build he carried it off very well. Jean Jacques Barrette is an established fitness model competitor already he has many years of training and has competed many times before in different organizations so it wasn't a surprise that he nailed this show and got his Pro card. I will be keen to see him line up with the Pro's next year!
2nd Place - Paul Mirdamadi, one of two local brothers, he has done well to get a 2nd placing, there looks like there can be a lot more to come from Paul, I think he has a body which can be quite aesthetic if it fills out more and gets more lean.
3rd Place - Leroy Bascombe. A good look for Leroy, a nice sweeping chest and torso with some nice posing, don't forget this is important as well, some guys have great bods out there but don't know how to show it off! Confidence and charisma is a must in this category. I think if Leroy build on this placing and trains hard he will have an incredible body next year, these open guys all have the basics and the looks I think it's that final bit of mass and full muscle development that is going to be the finishing touch.
4th Place - Kyle Gentle Kyle is an incredible fitness model, he has a great body, I thought he could have placed higher he has trained for some time and has improved a lot, he was really happy with the top 5 placing. I think he can do some serious damage next year! Great torso, abs and also good size on the legs, maybe a bigger broader set of shoulders and more developed arms will finish this physique off! I also thought his posing was a little extreme in places and not quite in tune with the more sutle fitness model posing, perhaps that was what placed him a little lower?
5th Place Theo Handen - This was only Theo's 2nd fitness modeling competition! What a great result he literally started competing in June, I think that he has a lovely look very aesthetic chest and abs, one of the lightest on stage. He also will be quite something next year if he ads a few pounds on. Again his stage presence was great looked and acted the part which must have helped his placing. A great result from a total new comer. I'm sure he'll go Pro for next year. I also like the fact that he is from the UK as well, I hope he competes as a Pro next year with Ryan - Two guys from the UK! Plus Good old Rob Riches! Oh and I have to say this guy really knows how to dress! What a suite! ( see the above pic)
So that is a wrap up of the wbff mens fitness model comps Pro and open. The question is will the established Pro's come back for more next year? Will the top 5 of the open step up another level and take their body's to the same level as the current Pros? Will there be some dark horses we havn't even seen yet? I'm sure the answers will be yes to a lot of those, I can't wait to see next year's Show. WBFF all the way !

Pro fitness model results wbff world champs
Below is the top 5 results from the 'Pro' class. This year was an exciting and truly stacked line up! I mean you had two former champs 2009 world champion Rob Riches and also last year's champ Obi Obadike, joining the line up were super cover model James Ellis and the lovely David Kimmerle. Also a top UK model ( yay!) Ryan - John - Baptiste, who turned Pro last year.
OK here are the results:
1st place - James Ellis. He was in very good shape, very dark with his tan, could this have made the difference? It was a new champ and a welcome change I guess since both Rob and Obi have one this title before, they are both awesome, but it was James who stole the day.
2nd Place - last year's champ Obi Obadike. He looked surprised and unhappy with the the result, how do you compare the two, both in awesome shape and so different looks. I don't think he should be too disappointed he has already one this title and is a very successful fitness model.
3rd Place - Ryan John Baptiste. I have seen Ryan get better and better every year since he won the fame uk champs a few years ago. I am so pleased to see a UK guy as a pro and coming top 3, he came 3rd last year also, but his body has constantly improved, his legs were quite the best on stage vs all the others. I'm sure he may come even higher next year!
4th Place - Rob Riches. This was a surprise, people think Rob has one of the best body's around, he has won many fitness competitions and I was surprised to see him in 4th place. That is saying something to see Rob come in 4th! I think his torso, abs and chest are the best out! But I guess it's the whole package. The only thing I would say is that Rob hasn't really improved his body from what we are used to, and to be honest I'm not sure how he can! Once again he has won this before and is an accomplished model, but it's still strange seeing him in 4th place with such a great body. Maybe it was the legs see the diff between his and Ryan's ?
5th Place David Kimmerle. I have soft spot for David! He is so gorgeous and has a true model face. He has some amazing pics out there, but I think this year he just wasn't as conditioned as the top 4, by a long way, he looked nice but not as ripped and as conditioned as the top 4. That's the way the standard is going, more and more conditioning, more striations and more definition.
Who to look out for next year out of the Pro's in 6th place was Scott Dorn, I think he has a great body and I was suprised he wasn't in the top 5. He looked much thinner and not as pumped as his Reps cover, where he looked amazing! I think he can definatley come top 3 next year. Will the big established names compete next year? They have nothing left to prove, new Pro's are coming through which will be exciting to watch, how much they can improve in a year we will have to waite and see!

I have been following the exciting rise of the 'Male Fitness modelling' competitions especially through the WBFF - The world body building and fitness federation from Paul Dillete. I have been to quite a few shows now some in other organizations suhch as muscle mania and fame, the competitions outside of the USA are pretty lack lsutre with very poor turn out both through competitors and people watching. The WBFF however is a beautiful class act, with impressive venues, shows and most of all amazing athletes . They say the best of the best compete at the WBFF and I have to say it is totally true. There were some 300 plus competitors in all the categories at the recent 2011 wbff world championships in Canada. Being a girl I was only interested in the male fitness model category! The standard is getting more and more stacked every year! Below you will see the results from both the pro show and the open show. Maybe some surprises in the Pro's? I think you can't argue witt the top 5 but you may with the order!
